I would buy the 35mm Nikkor G f/1.4 next time – the premium is considerably less than my time is worth. The amount of time I wasted in getting a ‘good one’ of the 35/1.4 was very costly. The serial number can be easily found because it is usually printed in white to help it stand out from the black lens. Just have a look at your Nikon lens and scan the surface. They do not have a standard location, but they are fairly easy to find. Serial numbers can be found in different places on your lens.

The lens you received has a serial number which has not been issued by Sigma’s factory in Japan. APO 50-500mm F4.5-6.3 DG OS HSM: Serial numbers between. Is it really a pre-production model It came with UV-filter, plastic end cap, metallic front cap and bakelite container.

Many of them have a serial number between 700000-900000 and my lens have number 002796. After that I have compared my lens to other ones found from the internet. Lens manufacturer Sigma has issued a recall of three of its telephoto zoom. I bought a Tair-11A lens couple of days ago from internet auction.
